Question

Hi Peeps,
On changing from normal to STi type injectors on a bugeye WRX, is it a simple case of finding them in the bay, unplugging the old ones, and replacing them.. and I can go out driving again?? Or is there some ECU work or other bits that need to be taken into account? I have uprated fuel pump n regulator to fit too.
Any advice much appreciated.
Stu

First, to fit them I would remove the whole inlet manifold. It´s quite easy to remove and after that it´s MUCH easier to get to the injectors.

Yes, you have to change fueling! That´s possible with a remap, or fitting some kind of fuel controller.

So what you're saying, is that I can change them, and then I need to 'trailer' the car to the remap place. (Assuming of course I can't get them fitted at the remap place )

Right...
Just remembered this thread...

Fitted the 500's to the WRX.

The heat shields are a PITA, but it isnt the hardest job in the world the shields are literally the only problem.
FItment was pretty straightforward, undo rails and pull up, injector pulls out, disconnect plug, replace inj, plug on, bolt rail back, purge system to check seals.

What do you mean by purge system and checking seals? Just check if fuel is gushing out where it shouldn't be?? Sorry for the dumb questions... !

Lol, yes mate.

Switch the ignition on for 3 secs then off for 3 secs, do htis approx 3/4times and the fuel system should be pressurized again.
Check for any leaks around the top of the injectors.
