Hello, I just swapped a Ver 2 555 motor in my car and was wandering where the redline was. The shop that did the install claimed that my redline as well as the rev limiter were at around 6800 rpms. While driving this beast, my friend accidentally revved up above 7200-7300. Both of us were rather shocked to find that we never hit the rev limiter. So we decided to see where the rev limiter would kick in. He revved the engine up past 8000 rpm and we were still making ungodly power as well getting up to 45+ mph in first gear. During this test we never hit the rev limiter. My question is this: What is the maximum I can safely rev my engine? Thanks for any help.
