And what is a Type UK?? Have heard they are like gold dust??

 

Officially speaking it's British. It carries full UK/EU type approval, was sold through the UK dealer chain and carried a full Subaru UK warranty.

There's no such thing as a "Type UK" on its own. There was an STi22B Type UK, which was a limited edition of 16 "official" UK specification 22B's, so they would likely be the gold dust you've heard of.

There's also the new shape WRX STi Type UK, and there's no shortage of those.
