Question

...Is this okay?

I noticed this the other day comming off a roundabout on full acceleration, the indicated temp dipped down to the lowest reading, before rising back to around 1/3rd on the gauge. A couple of questions:
1) What should be a "reasonable" level indicated for the water temp?
2) Should this fluctuate simply from cornering/accelerating.

Anyone had any experience of this, or am I just being paranoid?

Andy

PS. My car is a std UK MY95

Andy,

This is probably a faulty temperature sender or a loose connection.

My water temperature sender was replaced after I experienced exactly the same symptoms as you. It dipped towards cold more and more often until it eventually gave up altogether.

Cheers,

Alex

Cool

Thanx for the info - I'll get it checked/replaced at the next service. Any ideas on how much this is going to cost me (part and labour)?

Is this a DIY job?

Andy
