MY97 uk turbo boost problem

Question

When bootin it at roughly 4k rpm the boost seems to blow off causing the car to jolt badly for a split second with no lose of revs and continues doing it under my lead foot, can anybody help and also where can i find out the gear ratio's for my car

fuel cut.you will more than likely need a new boost control solenoid.it sits on inner wing drivers side behind the air box.

Or just start with cleaning the thing (& pipework) & see how that goes.
If you do a search, there's lots of info on it. But basically it's a case of note where everything is, unplug it, squirt carb cleaner in until black gunk stops coming out, wait for it all to dry out & plug it back in again.
Basically, the gunk (a build-up of oil) makes things sticky/slow to react, so overboost, so fuel cut

Thanks for your replies,had it diagnosed today it was the hot oxygen sensor. cheers bluenose . im in the lake district
