New WRX MAF
I'm wondering if the MAF on the new WRX is an improved version over what was supplied on the North American market MY99 2.5RS. The MY99 Hot film MAF unit had a reputation for failure, and is know to give inaccurate readings when paired with certain aftermarket intakes.
Bosch has since received a US patent on improvements to that old design. I'm curious as to whether or not the MAF unit on the new WRX has these improvements incorporated. I should be able to tell from a picture of the inner sensor housing.
Is there anybody here would could take such a picture?

Scott - the failures were just a bad batch of parts..happens all the time on anew design. I have had my 32 MAF in my car for a year and a half..turbo'd and all, with nary a problme. From 2000 on, I assume t WRX converted to the MAP that the '00 and up 2.5RS's got.
Plus, the MAF from, say a Version 5 is the same as our 2.5 one...I looked into this when blew my first one; part numbers were the same.
