Hi there.

I currently have MY2000 classic in DBM - the only mod being an H&S back box.

I have been contemplating putting a decat centre section but could do with a couple of questions answering before I spend the diamonds!

1) Will it make the exhaust much louder?

2) Will it still pass an MOT ok?

3) Could it do any damage to the engine (Ive heard stories about boost spikes)?

4) How much extra power could it "unleash".

Thanks guys.

The centre section can increase the noise, it depends whether you go for one with a resonator or not!

2) Will it still pass an MOT ok?
It will pass an MOT as long as you have the main downpipe cat in place.

3) Could it do any damage to the engine (Ive heard stories about boost spikes)?
Boost spikes may be an issue if you remove the main downpipe cat.

4) How much extra power could it "unleash".
It will not be that noticeable!

The most restrictive part of your exhaust system is the downpipe cat. Removing that will increase power, lower the point at which your turbo spools up, but then it will fail an MOT, can be too loud and may create boost spikes!
