Engine Temps?
Guys,
Thinking about trying one of those products that claim to reduce water temperature in the engine.
I know some people have tried certain products and the name "Water Wetter" springs to mind (could be way off though as I have a HUGE hangover this morning!
)
Experiences below please.
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,
Hangover, on a Tuesday ? You go drinking on a school night ?
I have done a little work with Redline Water Wetter. Didn't make much difference to the main engine coolant temps on the GT4 but the cooling never really has any problems anyway.
But I did use it in the chargecooler system (seperate system) and in very unscientific tests showed about a 5 degree C drop in coolant temps in this circuit after identical runs (basically giving it large up the Malvern Hills).
So, I would say, yes it works, but whether you would notice, I doubt it, unless the cooling system in question was borderline anyway.
Cheers
Ian

Chris,
I havent used it personally, but I know two guys that have (they used it for there rally cars), and according to them "It does the job"!
I once had a water temp problem with a Calibra Turbo I owned that was highly modified. This caused the water temps to rise, I was told to use "Water Wetter", but decided to fit an uprated thermostat that rectified the problem (basically this opened at a lesser temperature!)....maybe an avenue for investigation!
Shaun.

I have a lower temperature thermostat in my WRX which I got from Power Engineering. I don't know if it made any difference as I only have the standard guage, but the theory sounded good to me.
