Blitz DSBC Help Needed!
hi all, just fitted the above, (single solinoid version). bit disapointed as it feels no different :P also, my engine check light is now illuminated, is this just a problem i will have to live with or have i plumbed it in wrong?boosts fine, but never feels any quicker, at 0 through to 22ish then after that, fuel cut kicks in. BUT the DSBC tells me im only boosting .57KGCM's, isnt that only about 0.6 bar? any help on this MUCH appreciated as its driving my mad thinking its been a aste of time and money.
hope someone can help, or point me in a direction
Thanks again, James

What MY is the car? Try to explain how you have plumbed in the pipework as it sounds as though it is incorrect. Have you unplugged the original boost solenoid as this will throw an ECU fault.

hi there, original boost solinoid is unplugged, say the new solinoid is with the smallest pipe at the top, then big pipe, then the other big pipe further down if u get me, top small pipe is going to airflow, first big pipe to actuator, then lower big pipe to the turbo. i guess from your reply the check light shouldnt come on?its a '93 WRX. thanks for your reply, im off to have a play with it now
Firstly I would suggest you 'plug' the original solenoid back in even though you are not using it as this will register an ECU fault. Then click here to reset ECU to clear faults. From what I can remember with the SSBC the small outlet is the 'bleed' which needs to be connected to the black resonator. The middle large outlet should connect to the Actuator on turbo and the remaining large pipe to the turbo nipple.
Hope this helps

does help, got the light to go out lol :P, gonna try swapping the pipes to turbo and actuator round tomoz as theres no real difference in the boost presure when u adjust the ration, at the moment, i have the ratio on 0, which i would think would be no boost or very little, but feel like STD boost!??!?very confussed.....let u know how i get on....
Thanks again
Thanks again
Actuator pipe goes to out on the Blitz solenoid. I always remember it by the initaials OA which are the initials for Olympic Airways
(O for out and A for actuator).
For setting it up on a stock turbo put the gain on around 10 or 15 (spool up) and the ratio on 60. This should give you around 1.15/1.18kg/cm2 held boost and around 1.2kg/cm2 peak boost. The 0.57 you are seeing at the moment is the least boost it will run. It will run this boost when switched off as well.
You don't have to have the stock solenoid connected but you have to block off the outlet near the airbox where one of the pipes used to go to the stock solenoid otherwise the air fuel ratios will be out.
Cheers,
George.

thanks for that george, the boost does go up to 57ish, higher than that and it FEELS like the fuel cut is cutting in, scary feeling indeed. by the airflow pipe do you mean the black smaller one?do you have any pics of where to put it?can runs fine appart from this but seems to be juicy IMO. gonna have a play tomoz, i dont have the original airbox, have blitz SUS filter if that helps? didnt get chance to look at it today but hopefully will do tomoz

Here's a pic with the pipe I mean. Look at the yellow arrow. Disconnect the pipe and block off the hole. It's a pic of Johnfealsted's engine bay that I've modified with the arrow.

Cheers,
George.

thanks for that Wrexy, been playing again tonight, seems to feel very quick but DSBC says im only boosting .57 with a ratio of 45 but only .47 with a ratio of 0? very strange cant work it out, think i need a mechanical boost gauge too to know for sure, car feels very quick though at the mo so no complaints from me
Thanks for all your help
