Scoobysport Downpipe
I know the noise level topic has been discussed at length, but I would like hear how much noiser it is over the SS backbox on it's own.
Is there anyone in Herts/West London with the downpipe/backbox combination that I could take a listen ?
Thanks
Mark

I'm not in London - but have the S/S back box and downpipe and it's obviously louder, but acceptable - I did a 5 hr trip to Devon last weekend and (with the radio on some of the way!!) it was fine.
My S/S centre section's going back on this weekend.

Dave and I both have the full S/S system (incl downpipe) and whilst it's loud when you are having a real blast, on normal everyday driving it is not that loud. In fact with the radio on I don't notice it.
I do however find myself driving through built up areas in one gear lower with the window wound down ! but only when the feds are not around

My car was noise metered in adverse conditions (another car witihin a foot of my exhaust pipe) at Castle Coombe with Scoobysport downpipe and backbox, and the reading was 88db. Not exactly loud. Don't really notice the noise in the car, except when caning it, and even then it is not obtrusive.

My exhaust changes :
Original Exhaust - almost silent !
Then Scoobysport backbox - nice but a bit quiet - just audible in car.
Then Scoobysport downpipe - only slightly louder but can now hear turbo whistling.
Then Scoobysport centre section - much louder now (very nice) and car seems to be going even quicker !
I am extremely pleased to say the least.

JDS: Fitting the downpipe is a right pain which is why most people get theirs done for them. Cheam Motors did mine and the labour charge was less than an hour IIRC - well worth it IMHO.
The downpipes are
1) not easy to get at
2) studs can be difficult to remove as sometimes rusted in
3) studs can easily be bent/broken
4) heat shield is also a pain to remove
If you have access to a ramp/lift you could try it but I wouldn't bother if you don't.
