Question

Hello everybody!
What is the diameter of the Scoobysport downpipe?
I think standard is 2.5" and Scorpion exhaust has 3".
What is the diameter of the PE T75 exhaust system?
ric

Where could I buy a 3" downpipe that fits the standard mid section with cata?

Cool

PE System has a 3" diameter.

Scoobysport's standard downpipe has a 2.5" exit to the mid section... however, if you talk to him nicely, Pete Croney may be able to prepare a downpipe with a 3" exit to the mid-section as it's only the hole in the flange that restricts down to 2.5".

I am considering swapping my T75 twin dump for a scoobysport downpipe... so I may have a T75 twin dump going spare soon...

Moray - why changing from PE to SS? - expecting gains/benefits?

Am looking at a dp at the moment, either SS or Falkland (both pipes seem identical?) - any thoughts?

I just suspect I may get a little better low down torque with the scoobysport design of wide-open mouth rather than the seperate wastegate pipe on the PE job... I may loose a little in the high end, but my car's got more than enough of that anyway.

ScoobySport are fitting my downpipe this afternoon . I already have the SS backbox, but will keep the OEM centre section. I'll let you know what difference it makes tomorrow

Why are you keeping the centre section?
The cat is small and is unlikely to allow an MOT pass unless it is very hot.

Would be interested in your twindump frontpipe, but don't understand why you want to change to SS downpipe. (I think the difference is negligible!).
Mid section with cata: I find, that every car should be equipped with a catalyst!
So the only way to big flows is fitting a sports catalyst....but this is expensive.
So keep the standard mid-section and get the BEST DOWNPIPE+BACKBOX money can buy.
Is the PE downpipe also in the end 2.5" to fit the standard mid-section?

hi ric,

The PE T75 is 3", but entirely compatible with the 2.5" standard centre section as well as a 3" cat mid-section.

Mail me offline so I can get in touch when I change the downpipe... if you're still interested, that is.

Doc,
I have kept the OEM centre (for the moment) because the ScoobySport option of cutting out the cat will mean I cannot revert the car to standard when I sell it. I am thinking of buying a PE catted centre to save the enviroment and future problems with MOT's - quite expensive though. My d/p installed yesterday and I will post my opinions on the SS d/p in a seperate post.

Huh ?

Cutting it out ?

I had my mid-section replaced with a cat-less version at Scoobysport yesterday and they just unbolted it and put another one on..

What make of centre section was used. SS do not make a centre.

I was there when they (well, the guys in the next unit) made it up. Hot off the press.

Checkout SS's price list for it:

I was under the impression that scoobysport did the straight through midsection conversion on an exchange basis, taking your original off and putting someone else's doctored one on... then doctoring your's for someone else...

The whole point of not replacing the mid section was that I do not want to loose the OEM equipment. If someone wants to buy my car standard in the future Subaru would probably charge ~£400 for it. I would rether have my existing centre and a replacement centre.

Surely though, Pete Croney would be able to supply a CAT-ed version, given that he has people giving them to him all day in exchange.

You'd just exchange it back the other way, no ?

Ric.

I have the Scorpion 2.5" downpipe, and it fits the rest of my 3" Scorpion system fine.

Sorry Moray, am being thick here.

Orville was saying that he has kept his OEM midsection because he wouldn't be able to go back to it after having it removed.

I suggest that Pete & his croneys (hehe) should be able to make one up as they get Cat-ed exhausts in every day (as PX).

What have I missed ? You have to be very clear as I don't pick up on subtleties to well.
