cold start up
has any had any problems when starting the car from cold because somtimes when i start my95 wrx from cold it coughs and spultters and the revs drop to about 500 and is on the verge of stalling, until i give it a little bit a throttle then it clears itself,(i don't use any revs to start it) but even when it does'nt run rough the choke idle is about 1500 revs is this correct, thanx. p.s does anyone know any good mitsubishi lancer evo 6 sites because my mates got one (lucky bugger) and can't find any.
Nick,
Cold idle on mine (UK MY99) is 1500rpm so don't worry about it. As for the other problem not sure sorry. Try a search because I'm sure this problem has been covered before.

Nick,
My 95 WRX-RA used to do this - The problem was caused by a clogged air filter causing the ECU to get a rich reading when the engine was last switched off.
Changing the air filter element sorted things out.
Also 'blipping' the throttle when turning off the engine can cause this problem.
