Park Lane service and MY99/00 gearbox oil
Anyone here have their car serviced at Park Lane - especially MY99/WRX/Sti.
One point for information - the synchro ring on the MY99 has a pathetic spring clip as opposed to a machined steel pawl (MY98 and earlier) as an engagement device - which explains MY99 synchro failures...
...back to my question - Park Lane are changing the gearbox oil on MY99/00 STis as a matter of course - preventative medecine.
I'm fine with that per se - however since doing my 15,000 service the gearbox feels much less 'oily' and viscous. It moves much more easily - however the downside of this is an increased 'notchiness'.
Anyone else experienced this? Is this specific to the oil that Park Lane use - which even at trade was hugely expensive?
Cheers,
R

Since i had my gearbox rebuilt (not by Park Lane BTW), my gearbox has been much more notchy, i can only assume the oil has caused this, so am getting it changed on Tuesday to see. Will keep you posted.

I've used PL for a recent lube service and mentioned the notchiness in the gearchange of my 97 STI IV Type RA. They recommended an oil change, which they did, but it has made no difference.
