Am i right in saying that there are two cats on my WRX. So the replacement downpipe does away with one cat improveing performance ,while not affecting the MOT.

Question

Graham,

I have a MY95 STI 2 and asked the guys who service my car the same question a couple of weeks ago. Was told that my car still had both CATs, however if I removed the one in the Downpipe I would struggle to pass an MOT. Removing the second CAT in the centre pipe is OK as it doesn't seem to do a lot.

Seems that there are so may differing opinions. Suppose you simply way up the cost of possibly having to stick the CAT back on once a year against the benefit of better exhaust flow!

Seems like you can't win...

Mart.

Graham,

Thanks Martin, sounds like a lot of hassle for a few extra Horses. So think i,ll leave it as it is . Runs well with Hyper exhaust and K+N panel anyway Graham.

Martinr,
You may or may not have a centre section cat on your STi2, I didn't on mine, but you cannot tell from the outside.
