New engine & over boosting
Just got my new engine(97turbo) in on warranty due to the "ticking/knocking noise on start up". Only got a couple of hundred miles on the new motor, it seams to be going well and installation has been done reasonably well. Engine is much smoother.
On a different subject, my car has suffered from over boosting and the dealer's solution to the problem is to put a restrictor in one of the pipes to a sensor on the drivers side wing. Although this solves the problem of the engine cutting out on full boost it also slows the car down. Dealer fitted latest spec sensor which is good for 1.2bar? Sensor has been cleaned out and any traces of oil on the sensor diaphram has been removed. I believe any moisture or oil can cause the sensor to give inaccurate readings, thus engine oil level is important. Is there a more scientific way of solving this problem while still utilizing the full boost that my car is producing? My warranty is about to expire so I'm think about making a few mods.
Any info is appreciated.
