Question

Dear All ,
Could anyone out there with a standard STI2 please tell me what the correct boost pressure should be ? when I connected my boost guage the maximum it showed was around 11-11.5 psi. Having done the so called ECU reset it still made no difference. Any advice or comments are greatfully appreciated.
Cheers Dave

Mine registers 1 Bar (16 psi ?) on full boost. Then drops a little to about 15 psi

Yep I got 1 bar overboost and then 0.9 bar steady state.
Have you had any exaust mods done? Now I have a PE phase 1 on the car and the boost pressure was 1.15 bar ish, but I then had a downpipe and remap carried out and max boost is now 1.0 bar(but much quicker)

Big Bear,
Things to try include
Trying somebody elses boost guage (yours may be faulty)
(wild guess work here) but are you loosing boost pressure from anywhere? Do you have any whistling/whooshing sounds from under the bonnet?
You could also try plugging in another ECU from an STi2 to see if that helped.
I'm not saying that these are the most likely causes, but they are easy to check and cost no money I'd offer you my ECU to try but as it's got a PE Phase 1 it would be a no go(map would be wrong)
Are you at Donno? I'll be there (silver) come and see me and we'll have a chat.
Paul

I had a similar problem last week which was caused by not connecting a pipe back properly.I was replacing my panel air filter with a K&N replacement, and in haste I left the pipe loose under the air chamber next to the air box. After following the pipe back it
looked as if operated some sort of air pressure valve which detects air flow through the intake.May a pipe has become loose or split in the same area?
I hope you find this of some use.
