just been trying to get some ngk pfr7b spark plugs, but can't seem to buy these anywhere locally, big M list the ngk pfr6b for the impreza is it alright to use these. cheers
P.S there not cheap either £9.78 EACH.

6's are the right ones,it seems that every turbo impreza use's them even the sti.I thought of using 7's in my sti but think i'll stick to 6's.

The PFR6B is the listed plug, but the 7 is only one grade colder. In fact the latest NGK plugs cover about 3 ranges so the 6 will do th work of a 5 and a 7, thus a 7 will cover a 6 and an 8.

If you tune the engine...run more boost etc. then one tuning tactic is to use a colder plug...so the exact plug you use is not as critical as it used to be say 10 or 15 years ago.

The price is about right, cheaper than main dealer, though I get mine for about £8.00 each.

 

i'am planing to increase boost exhaust air filter so it's best to use a 7 or 8 i suppose , could you tell me where you can get them from, because i've tried everywhere with no success, cheers mate.

I'm currently running a heavily modified sti 3 I'm still using the stadard plugs.If you do a search on plugs you will see that people with moded cars are still using the std plug but reducing the gap slightly when running more boost..........

However if you still want to use 7s try GGR or camberly auto factors.

Any motorfactor who deals with NGK should be able to get any plug from the range - if anyone has problems getting plugs let be know by e-mail I can speak to my supplier or pop into NGK since they are not far from me in Hemel Hempstead.

I have run the NGK 7s in both my previous WRX and my current STI 3. My cars are, of course, no where near as heavily modified as Jon's! hehe ...

Anyway, Powerstation and PowerEngineering both recommended the NGK 7 plug for my cars. I have never had any plug related problems with the 7.

If they now cover three ranges, then the 7 will cover standard 6 through to more highly stressed 8, which is nice.

You won't go wrong with the 7, IMHO.

Oh, forgot to mention that Powerstation, Powerengineering and (IIRC) GGR all stock the NGK 7.
