Not-So-Invisible Downpipe Increases
Took my car down to PE on Friday, to see what difference, if any, fitting my Scorpion downpipe had made to my car's figures on the RR.
It certainly felt quicker on the road, so was interested to see whether the usual invisible increases that have plagued other people would happen to me.
I am very pleased to say that they didn't, and my car is now punching out 267bhp and 235lb/ft !!!!!
(Up from 261bhp & 233lb/ft)
Whilst the overall torque increase is minimal the mid range has increased dramatically, by as much as 15lb/ft at 2500 revs. The power also holds on for longer now.
The Scorpion d/p is a very basic version, with a blanking plate over the wastegate thingy
like the original one. That is to say the flange is round, not oval like the SS or PE one.
Merv seemed to think that these pipes would give even better increases, but as the Scorpion was £150+vat fitted and I was already very happy with my exhaust, I decided to remain loyal.
I'd be interested to see if the PE T75 really was that much better.....
Now, who's got one to sell?
Stef.

Stef.
Good to hear that your trusty stead has gained MORE power.
Definately agree with you regarding downpipes. Recently fitted a SS downpipe and immediately noticed the extra torque and quicker turbo spool up. With a SS Backbox and K&N Induction kit the noise is just awesome.
See you at the Pod.
Cheers

Yes I have one for sale, One small problem you must take it with the center section and the Phase 1. If I let any of these mods go there is no point in keeping the others.
The lot for half price.
Must be safe here no one wants PE gear.

Not being offensive but the fact that it was a different day will give a different reading...it doesnt necessarily mean your car is producing more power/torque...then again, it doesnt mean it isnt either!
I went back to PE the other day after adding my Magnex Centre and SS BackBox and was back up to 265bhp and 259lb/ft torque.with much larger gains in the midrange too..(with wet tyres!)...but so what?
Sunil the Cynic
PS...you have gained more than you thought, as your old torque was 232lb/ft and not 233lb/ft

I know nobody wants the PE phase 1. The only people who want the PE phase 1 are allready owners of it. I only offered the extra's package as I knew no one would want it. You can purchase The phase 1 by itself. You can purchase the phase 1 with exhaust. I thought I would be safe and I would get no takers.
I did have replys about the Phase 1 but as luck would have it the UK is not compatible with the WRX's. Thank god.

Please do not ask me to sale anymore parts from my car I am not a scrapyard.
