Someone was asking me about the part number for the K&N 57i filter I've recently ordered for my MY97 car.

I got the filter from Ripspeed/Halfords in New Malden, and cost £64.55

Part number on the box is 57-0247. This filter has instructions for a 1997 on, but I'm not sure if this is the same filter for a MY99/00 car!

this is a good question

I have a MY97 at the moment with the 57i kit fitted. I have a MY2000 arriving in approx 3 days time (not that I'm counting...honest).

I've looked under the bonnet serveral times on MY99 and MY2000 cars and the airbox placement seems slightly different. The MAS also seems to be slightly different along with the intake pipework too.

If anyone knows if my existing 57i kit will fit on the new car it would be nice to find out.... if not I'll sell it on the bbs

I have good news and bad news...

The bad news is that your K&N kit won't fit on your new car. I enquired about this and a K&N technical support guy told me that the MY99 kit wouldn't be out for "2-3 months"

The good news is that I made my enquiries about 2-3 months ago so it might already be out !

Spoke to K&N last week regarding 57I kit for MY99

Said that is still under development and they still did not have a date as yet.
