Question

Hi all. I am trying to get an engine and ECU from the UK into the USA and I have been given the numbers off of the block and ECU. I showed them to some one here and was told they they are off of a Legacy. The people who are selling them to me say they are from a 96 STI4. If any of you know how to figure them out the help is greatly appreciated. Here is what i have:

engine #'s are :EJ20BUG110206988145 then 7LBB3333333L
ecu #'s are
22611AB730 then A18-000RJ5 then 3Z20

Thanks

I think someone on the BBS or IWOC has info on this. I can say that I think the STi IV was first launched in August 1997 so that makes the first cars MY97's. You are right to be suspicious of the '96 reference because they were not made. Some Legacy parts are the same for the Impreza but I don't know which.

I have posted this topic to IWOC and no one has responded. It is getting close to the time when I either have to pay or use another source. Thanks.

A 96 STi would not be a version 4, as these were effectively 98MY cars.

I have some limited info on Engines, and this seems to indicate that all early 2.0 Turbo engines used an EJ20G engine, changing to EJ20K for the 97MY onwards car, and then EJ205 for Phase 2 engines, with EJ207 for the STi variants (ie version V).

Sorry I can't be of any more help
