Service costs and intervals?

Hey im looking for my perfect scoob atm and was wondering what are the service intervals and average costs? how oftern do u have to change the timing belt?

Classic shape (2000 and before) service intervals are every 6 months or 7,500 miles (which ever is first). As for cost, the basic (change oil and small checks ) is about £110 form Subaru dealer , the others vary depending on which service .I've just had my 45,000 done (car only done 36,000 though ) and it was just over £200 without cambelt change as this was done earlier .Try here for some good info sidc faq

Had the 90K done on my MY96, which is basically 2 big services, cost me £800.

£800!!! what was done there? Do u have to change the cambelt every 30k?

As for timing belt , I think 99 and before the interval was 36 months or 45,000 miles , but I think this was extended on the MY00 cars (but I stand to be corrected )
