After a long time of wanting a Scooby i'm now in a position to buy my first. I've heard so many different stories about imports........are they a good buy or should i stay with a UK car ? Also is it a good idea to have an AA inspection of the car, cos although i'm quite mechanically minded Scooby's are new territoy to me.

Any help or advice will be greatly apprieciated.....Thanx

Have a look the FAQ on the SIDC website (www.sidc.co.uk). I decided to go for an imported WRX (MY99) as they are better spec'd and quicker than the standard uk turbo's. You do pay a higher insurance premium mind, and they MUST be run on at least Shell Optimax (98 ron in the UK).

Good luck with the purchase anyway and welcome aboard

Depends on many things, how much do you have to spend ? what are you after in a Scoob ?
An inspection is always a good idea although the AA are not too clued up on these types of cars.
If you get froma dealer then no real need for an inspection, try and go for one with lots of history and if possible a FSH (depending on age), one thing which is very important with these cars, if they aren't serviced regularly and properly you will have problems.
This board offers a wealth of experience and advice and even cars for sale.
Do lots of homework before you buy and you won't be dissapointed.
