Cool

Right, I know that you can drop a broquet in your tank ,which if memory serves correct, helps a little with the octane rating of fuel, which is essential for us Jap import owners.

However, I have a question.

Would you use broquet instead of, or as well as, an octance booster, eg; Millers?

Can you use both together, if so, is it good/bad/worth it?

Which gives better benefits in the octane war? broquet or booster?

daft question I know, but as I've just started running on SUL (been on 95 RON for past year) I'm wondering if it's worth popping in broquet, then forgetting about it for a while, rather than having to keep buying and putting in octane booster

any info appreciated.

Thumbs up

Marcus I have inserted the two Broquet pods in to my tank and only add the Octane booster on track days.

Although I have the possum Link from BR engineering so the ECU its mapped for uk RON SUL.

I use SUL, and occasionally with octane booster as well (STi Ver. 1). Im thinking about some kind of Broquet product (for peace of mind more than anything else!) but I cant stand the Idea of them swinging about freely in the tank -as described on the broquet website, does anybody know if the in-line version can be used on a scoob and its pros cons ect?

Hi Guys,
Our usual recommendation is simply to put Broquet in the tank and run on 95 regular unleaded. If you want to try super and/or an octane booster that's fine especially if you are doing a track day and need the best out of your fuel. It should also give you an economy improvement (9% was reported by Scoob owner on this board) so it will pay for itself over a period of time.
It is a one-off so will never need replacing - boosters cost quite a bit over a long period and SUL is expensive and increasingly hard to find (only 97 RON now anyway).
I don't think you should worry about the units being in the tank - you'll never know they are there. In fact we are getting some interesting reports in from Singapore where Broquet sells like hotcakes for performance cars and they are using a combination of in-line and in-tank. We may be coming up with a special "performance pack" version of Broquet. If Simon allows we could possibly offer through ScoobyShop. I am a bit fussy about netiquette so it's awkward posting on here unless someone raises the issue. Happy to talk on 01403 823507 (but not at weekend as going to Brooklands). Hope this helps. David Lock, Broquet Distributor.

words from the man himself!
Thanks David.

think I need two broquet thingys for the scoob, if I remember correctly, what would be the cost?

Also, how does one keep them in place in the tank, heavy gague fishing line attached to them then leading out of fuel tank access point, thus clamped down by the cover?? (hope you get at what I mean)

as for scoobyshop, go speak to simon, NOW! i can't see a problem with SS being able to sell broquet. They are selling octane booster, so why not broquet as well.
Simon did have a thread about comments/improvements/products for the shop and I did suggest broquet, so at least a 'customer' of the shop has mentioned that it might be a good idea.

Hi Markus,
Many thanks for message. You would require 2 number 8-pellet in-tank units. List price £145.70 for both but Scoobynet discount of 20% brings price down to £116.56 + £2.00 p/p = Total £118.56

You can attach a piece of fishing line for example and there is a comment on this in fitting instructions which comes with info pack - however it's important not to introduce a fuel leak. Give me a buzz after 6 this evening if you like and I can sort out for you (off to Brooklands now to set up trade stand).
I will get back in touch with the Grand Master S-D-B. At least Broquet is easy to post unlike octane booster!!
Cheers, David
