Cool

Sounds like a loose/broken heat shield.

Question

Car has developed a strange metal dustbin lid type rattle,at idle only from the airbox side of the engine. Very noticable when switching engine off, the two or three turns as it dies do not sound normal. She has done 50000 trouble free miles, cambelt was changed at 45k. New clutch, flywheel & driveshaft oil seal replaced by dealer 2 weeks ago. Ideas anyone?

Thanks guys, my paranoid cheque book busting side of me had ruled that out. Could the dealer have loosened this when replacing the clutch or driveshaft seal? She seems to come back from the garage with more problems than she went in with at the moment eg seal needed because of damage done when changing clutch. Any idea of cost or is this a DIY job, I'm getting tired of the 40 mile round trip to my nearest dealer. (figure of speech - will never get tired of the Imp!)
Any help much appreciated
Ken
