How can i do this?>

It's basically so a user can see instantly what version of ie they have and they can then ask for an upgrade from our it dept if below 5.5

(Far too much to expect a user to click on help/about )

I think that you can do something like that using a bit of Java script.

Try using something like this.

<script language="Javascript"><!--

document.write("You are using: <b>"+navigator.appName+" "+navigator.appVersion+"</b>");

//-->
</script>
