Display Version of IE in a webpage?

How can i do this?>
It's basically so a user can see instantly what version of ie they have and they can then ask for an upgrade from our it dept if below 5.5
(Far too much to expect a user to click on help/about

I think that you can do something like that using a bit of Java script.
Try using something like this.
