I think those covers look very neat,but
how to fit them on a UK spec 99MY TURBO?
I am refering to the STI version V since it
shares (so it seems) the latest front spoiler
design with the (normal impreza turbo).

You can't fit the covers unless you want to lose your driving lights.

I'm assuming the ver 5's are the same as the ver 4 cars, where the covers are actually blanks, i.e. there aren't any lights behind them, they just fill in the hole where the light unit goes.

Except maybe you could remove the metal brackets from the covers, glue a PIAA / Cibie cover on the inside and use that to grip the unit? Someone would only nick them though!

 

You can't have lights behind them at all as the lights stick out.

All you could do is go for Cibies or PIAA and colour code the covers like the RB5.

In the European spec. cars the fog lights are really fog lights unlike the UK spec cars.
Since I believe that you do not suffer so much from the fog (like I do) there is no big deal to get rid of it.

Sorry but I have to disagree. I ordered a set for my MY99 at MRT in Australia. Although I haven't yet installed them, a first test proved that they will cover the lights with no problem.

I have a spare set, so if you'd like to purchase it, mail me.

 

Are these official Subaru/STi parts or ones manufactured by MRT? To be honest the panels I had for my car would not cover any lights fitted into the holes behind them.

 

STi do supply fog lights cover for the MY99 cars.

 

When you say covers do you mean round lumps of plastic or the plates that screw onto the bodywork/bumper like the STi blanking plates?
