I am waiting with baited breath for the arrival of my silver 99MY Impreza Turbo (May 99). After reading through all the info I can find I have a couple of questions.

1. I want to fit the Scoobysport exhaust and Ramair filter combo, how long should I wait to do this?
2. Is the Prodrive quickshift box really that much better than the standard box (99MY)
3. Does anyone know of a good insurer (I'm only 23)

I know I am being a bit previous on this but the more info I get the easier the time seems to pass.

You may as well fit them straight away, as you will get a slight improvment in economy, even during the 1,000 mile running in period.

If you are onyl 23, I would recommend phoning lots of insurers and brokers for a good quote. Make sure they are happy with your planned modifications (tell the the full details), as some companies give great quotes for the standard car, but will cancel cover for some modifications.

I've driven MY98 cars with and without a quickshift and I found the standard gearchange almost as short and a little looser. I've heard from others that the quickshift loosens up later too so this probably isn't much of an issue. And opinion seems divided on whether it's that big an improvement over the '98 & '99 cars (apparantly earlier cars standard gearshifts were pretty naff !)

Personally, I cancelled my quickshift and ordered the Ramair & exhaust mod instead (they cost about the same)

Either way you'll have fun
