Hiya maye you have been recommended as knowing everything about scoobys so would greatly appreciate some advice. Ive got a MY93 WRX when i drive it it will boost at about 15psi but sometimes it cuts to 7psi for no reason it runs starts and drives fine no mods except a cone filter but it was doing this before i fitted the filter. Any suggestions would be appreciated as it is beginning to annoy me and also ive tryed cleaning the boost solenoid with brake cleaner that was a suggestion from someone but to no avail thanxs for that if you want to email me it is subarudriver@stephenson1981.fsbusiness.co.uk

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?

John doesnt really do pre 99 and he's not in the business now. Its his hobby!

its going into limp home mode, you need to read out the fault codes..

15psi is too high if running a standard map. The map sensor output may be causing the ECU to go into limp home mode.

This may be the same problem that has been seen even when trying to map a 93WRX to more than 16psi.

If you can read out the error codes it may give you an answer.

It might also be worth looking in the ECU to see if it's been chipped, as a MY93 should only be producing 11.5psi.

I had a simular problem on a 99 GT. It was oil in the vacum hoses. Cleaned it out and problem disappered.
