Unluckiest buyer ever is back on the road!!!!!!!!!!1

Just picked up my STi 4 from Kev at Scooby Clinic. Full engine rebuild for about 2K.

Running in a for a thousand, but it feels great.

had to drive 220 M25 & M1 miles up there & only saw 1 scoob all the way. Don't they like motorways?

 

lol@the motorway comments- going on the way my classic wagon drives it's a better motorway car than the 1.8T petrol Passats I had, at least as smooth as the Vectra SRi's I've had, not quite as comfortable and refined as the new Mondeos and streets ahead of the few superminis (clios, saxos, fiestas) I've tried.

I thought the newer models were meant to be better at motorway cruising? BTW my car doesn't feel nervous at all even at indicated speeds of 150+ on the Autobahn. Perhaps there is something amiss with yours.

It will be interesting to hear others experiences on the thread.

 

We regularly go up to Blackpool in our MY98 - it's a 600 mile round trip, never had any problems - it's a lot better than my old 16V Clio was at this journey, the Scooby is not at all nervous or twitchy, or loud, even though I've got a full de-cat you can still hold a conversation without shouting

 

Motorways are very useful if you have a long distance to drive and time is important. I find however that driving on a motorway is incredibly boring and if you have a car like a Scoob with its outstanding handling capabilities it feels like it is being wasted on a road without significant corners and little need to use the gearbox and brakes. It is even worse when you are stuck in a tailback without even any scenery to look at.

Ill second NACRO on this one, i have an 03WRX and its perfect for motorway driving, i guess it depends on everybody's driving style, but for me its streets apart from what i had before, (although thats not saying much!)

Its great fun on any road.

I think that the scoob is possibly the worst motorway car I have ever driven Including wife's R-reg 1.2 clio Too nervous for motorway driving, imho, which is why I try to stay on back roads all the time (where the nervousness is a feature)

I prefer a Saab, VW or a Volvo every day on the motorway (with exception of the S40, which I didn't like at all)

Edit: Note to everyone, those are my opinions based on hire cars and our MY03. Not slagging scoobs off in any way

The Subaru is the best motorway car I've driven, comfortable and reasonably quiet, although the PPP raised the noise level slightly.

Henrik you should immediately take your car to the garage, there is something very wrong with it!
