Try putting a lenght of tube on t-bar if you havnt got a long knuckle bar. Tiz the only way, they are fecking tight sometimes.
I assume you may be trying this on your back wich is much more difficult, makes alot of differance if you can get it over a pit or on a ramp.

Mine was fine..

I put my ratchet straight into the square indentation in the nut and tapped it with a hammer came undone fine...

Try heating up the diff around the bolt with a hair dryer or something..

It's a normal tapered thread. They are wound up very tight...

I ended up making a long T bar with 1/2" drive extensions and things so that the end of the T was out from under the bumper. This was supported on blocks of wood. I then heaved on the bar and it came undone... Easier to see than to write.

you can buy a thing called a breaker bar. Used by mechanics to undo this type of stubborn screw. its just a long bar with 1/2" drive on end on a knuckle. very stiff and excellent for the job. come in 12" 18" and 24" lengths. well worth the money (about £12 from halfords) better than putting a tube over a socket wrench less chance of cracking your knuckles. you will struggle to undo diff plugs without one they are insanely tight from factory.

Had the same problem tight as buggery! Could not get at it as not on ramp. will try extending it out past the bumper as mentioned, Cheers thought of everything bar that.

I jacked the car up, put a long extension bar on it, with the bar touching the ground I jacked the car down again, the weight of the car undid the bolt..
