Advice required following airfield day
Thanks for the feedback.
No fade on the brakes, but quite a loud 'groaning' noise (not sure how to describe it) under breaking towards the end of the day. Pad paint definately heated up and chipped off, although wasn't sure about the missing corner edges of the pads which seem to have gone the same way. Was thinking of a 'harder' pad for the next airfield day...what's the next logical 'step up' from RS421?
Tyres - was running about 37-38 psi front and about 34-35 psi rear (temps taken once car back in paddock about 5 mins after coming off track), so not sure if that contributed to shoulder wear and whether high pressures would be better (I'll get my bar to psi calc out in a sec).
First time out, so happy to take advice and learn from any mistakes I may have made.

Had my first airfield day yesterday at Bassingbourn with Motorsport Events. Had a great time but noticed a few things with regard to the wear of the recently fitted Pagid Discs and Pads (especially) plus the wear pattern of my front tyres.
Did the sensible things like cooling down laps, not using brakes or handbrake once back into paddock area etc, but still ended up with pads that look like:

Did I overheat the brakes? Should the pads be replaced asap? How do I avoid this in the future? Use a harder compound pad? (RS421 currently) Big brake kit the only solution?
Also noticed high wear of tyre shoulder:

Is this wear pattern normal for an airfield/trackday? Advice on pressure adjustment if not.
Any advice appreciated!

Its a track day mate so your brakes and tyres are gonna take a kicking. you're going outside the scope of road use and you have a road car so the consumables will be consumed faster.
the easiest thing you can to is do another trackday and finish em off, then fit new ones and start again.

The pads look normal, it's the bleu paint thats coming off.
I have the same setup like you (Discs and pads) and can drive 3 full trhottle laps at the Ring (wich is almost 60 km's flat out)
Tyres are best on 2.5-3.0 bar (to prevent scrubbing the sidewalls like you did). Also, check the inner arches if there is ANY component that rubs against the tyres. On my MY00 at the rear, there is a protection strip that I have removed because it was scrubbing against the sidewalls.
Creepy

If you have noticed a lot of wear appearing on the shoulder of the tyres, I would have them checked and checked again to make sure the rubber there is still thick enough to be safe. The shoulder is a prime location for a blowout and that tyre looks more than a little scuffed.
Re the pads, is that the pad compound or just a layer of paint peeling off there? The rotors don't look to have "blued" and if the car still stops ok, subject to a close inspection of the pad's surface not revealing any cracks, then I wouldn't worry too much.
For future reference though, you may well need to go to a harder pad
It depends on how the brakes felt; did they fade or were they consistent?
