Question

Looking through some receipts for my Legacy GT-B, I discovered that it's had an EJ20G short engine (ie block, pistons, crank) fitted. The rest of the engine is the original EJ20R though.

Am I right in thinking EJ20G is a closed deck block? Hence the previous owner probably replaced it for reliability and strength?

I can't find the engine number on the block (hidden by intercooler and 2nd turbo I suspect), but the timing cover sticker is the original EJ20R - as you'd expect.

Are there any other differences between the EJ20G block and the EJ20R block?

Rich.

Most EJ20G's and all EJ20R's are open deck. Sorry.

It was done by the previous (first) UK owner Jon

Not sure why he went to the trouble of finding an EJ20G block, to fit to an EJ20R engine, unless there was some good reason.

Mind you - given the mystery over my headlights (being H4 rather than projector like yours), and the way my cornering lights have been disabled, anything's possible!

Anyone know if there's a fuse or relay for the cornering lights I can check?

Rich.
