As my son has taken the main PC (but left me with my Epson 7000 scanner, I tried to connect it to my other PC. No luck! It required a Scsi card and cable which I duly got and installed.
Now although, in theory the PC knows the scanner is there, the main editting programmes do not even see it.
I have downloade latest driver from Epson site and unzipped it into a folder. How can I now point the scanner at this driver in order for it to "pick it up"???

Does your operating system see the scsi card ok.
When you boot the system, it should see the scsi card as part of the boot sequence, and report any devices attached.
(if the scsi device has a boot rom)
Look in control panel, devices, for your scsi device. if No yellow circles with black exclamation marks next to it should be ok.
Does your system still not see the scanner when it is switched on.
Depending on your OS, depends if it will try to install automatically. (Plug n Play).

Scsi device is seen. What I have found is that the software that originally came with the GT 7000 does not open when I put in the CD. (says cannot work in the environment?) That is why I downloaded driver off Epson site.
In Photodeluxe 3 , it now ses there is a Twain 32 scanner, but on double clicking says cannot open due to problem with scanner.

Sorry, forgot all about this.
Right click the device and remove it.
Then at the top level of listed devices is your pc name.
Right click, then left click on "scan for hardware changes".
If the drivers are there, in the correct place, the "scan" will add them in automatically.
The original install, may have got its nickers twisted.
Give this a try.

Thanks Foot_Tapper for even taking the time to reply again. It is appreciated. Ended up just taking the PC and scanner to my friend's computer shop. His engineer sorted it and it is all running well. But thanks again.
