Just having problems deciding whether Uprated TMIC Or FMIC I know i should FMIC for Long Term benifits (I.E more Tuning which i will be doing unless i go the Twin Tubby Supra route) But the hassle of fitting is what is making me Stutter. Questions
How much of a pig is the APS to Fit
Can I keep my Blitz cone
How Much bumper do i have to waste along with anything else i need to chop.
Does anyone have any Piccies / Destructions !!
Will i be a happy chappy when it is done.
All Help greatly appreciated as i need to make my mind up.
Thanks

Hi mate, I have a APS front mount fitted to my car (MY99 uk)which I fitted myself.
If the kit is the same (probably) there are no instructions with it just a couple of diagrams.
I think you may have to get the aps cold air induction kit as the ducting could clash with your filter.
The cutting of the front bumper is a trial & error job as the templates you get with the kit are rubbish .
If you want to mail me to go through the fitting in more detail feel free.
Alternativly (sp) you could meet up with me for a chat and a look see (I live near wilmslow so not too far from you).
hope this helps
Mike.

Whats making you go for the APS Front mount?? Ive got the HKS one and was most pleased with the kit, everything was included, that was other than a set of english instructions!! The kit was quite easy to fit really. Cutting the bumper out took quite some time, as a fair amount has got to be chopped away!

Weenie,

I have been scouring the posts on here & the Aps seemed to get the best results as far as Temps went, How much was the HKS Kit ? & did you have to relocate your Air filter.

Dean F,

Got my HKS front mount from Wincanton, they will sort you out if your a member of the SIDC!! Is it the APS which uses silocon hoses for the complete kit? Sure that couldnt be as good as metal pipework. Mind you think the HKS kit is slightly more, paid about a grand all in for mine. Im using a HKS filter with it, wont be able to get away with the std airbox.

I think I read somewhere that the silicon pipes keep the charge cooler. they can and do get damaged easily though.

I had a look at an APS FMIC for a 97> impreza ( don't think they do them for <97 ??) As far as I could see to fit this to a pre 97 you would have to cut a new hole in the inner wing for the pipe to go through, as well as cutting the bumper
