My MY98 clutch is starting to moan after 77k so I've bought a Borg & Beck clutch kit and I'm intending to replace it this weekend.
I've got the end wrench PDF doc giving the brief of how to do it, I was just wondering what spares I should get in from the subaru dealer before I start, the list I have so far is:
Front exhaust gasket
Front exhaust flange bolts
Flywheel bolts (if taking the flywheel off)

Is it necessary to take the flywheel off? I get quite bad clutch judder when cold, I've heard this can be from a warped flywheel, but I've also seen it said on here that its hot spots and nothing to worry about :s

Do you think I should take it off and have a look/ have it skimmed or even maybe buy a new one? (possibly a good excuse to find a lightweight one! )

Mine was juddering when cold.. before I changed it
(see here).

Once changed no judder for about 4000miles roughly.. think it is a combination of clutch and flywheel or clutch wearing to fit warped flywheel.. dunno... but not annoying enough to worry and I stuck with original flywheel.

You could change the spigot bearing (in the middle of the flywheel)
but don;t pay the Subaru £20 odd.. get one from a bearing supplier.. I might be able to find the bearing serial number but not until I am back home at the weekend.. I think my local place wanted £8.

The only things missing from that manual is you have to drop the lower link off the suspension bottom to get the driveshafts off has a castle nut, you will need a replacement split pin.
You can do one side and then push the gearbox over to get the other one off. It doesn't mention the clutch fork (more info here)

You can replace the drivershaft pins..

I replaced the rear crank seal whilst in there.. but when I got the flywheel off it looked okay but replaced it anyway.. pot luck I guess..

Nothing else springs to mind...

Oh yes... it is a real b1tch to get the box back on..

Be patient and make sure it is lined up all around and it slides straight on..
