Question

I bought a magnex 6x4 oval and was assured it would fit a scoob... received it, and it wont.
Its got the hanger for a VW/Vauxhall....

Optiones are:
Sell it on Ebay
Get it modified to fit the scoob' ..

(Anyone know of anywhere in Notts that will happily weld some scooby hangers on the BB?)

Or is easy enough that any back street garage could do it for me???

Got it for a *great* price, but realised that when things seem to good to be true, they usually are

buy some metal strip and some rivets, and say hello to your garage (kitchen doubles as emergency garage also)

It's quite straight forward mate

1) Cut the hangers off and make up some sort of strap style hanger. You can get strapping to go round universal boxes.

2) Sell it to someone with a VW for a vast profit and buy an exhaust that fits

Cut the hangers off your old exhaust and get a monkey to weld them to the magnex, job done.

You can weld stainless steel with mild steel wire no probs.
Ive done it plenty of times, Obviously from a cosmetic point of view its not ideal, but it is quite easy.
And anything you would be welding, probably wouldnt be visible anyway.

Talking

Take it to any half decent garage and they will make it fit. Is there noone near you that does custom exhausts.... they could do it blindfolded.

By the way, when i weld stainless with mild mig wire it blows holes all over the shop... maybe i'm just cr4p. Anyway, weldind the mild steel hangers to the stainless BB would be tricky.

here goes:

pavlo: could do..
jameswrx; option 2 sounds good..
Legacyturbs: nice idea, but I have a buyer for my current BB and I think he might want the hangers
Attu(Andy)Seeing them this week anyway so I will ask..
stevie: hmm point taken.. need some welding gear tho DOH!
Dazza: Got it for a song, and sending back to seller is more hassle than I need/want the I have to fight for a refund.. easier to get it sorted and make use of it.
MAd: Thats the plan.. plenty of asking about this week (including TSL)

thanks guys.. lots to think on.

Question

Chrome, you may have already thought this through but.....

What about the tube dia.(s) Surely Magnex would have used larger dia. bores than used on a Vauxhall. Unless it's for a Turbo Vauxhall of course.

If its not off a Turbo Vauxhall the tube sizes will be smaller and you will be no better if not worse than a standard factory exhaust

I'll shut up now but thought I'd add my 2 pence worth.

Good Luck.

Ste.
