Using a Legacy RS turbo in a Impreza 98

Hi:
I'm thinking in replace the stock TD04 turbo in my EJ20G MY 98 Impreza by a Legacy RS'93 turbo (I think a VF12) It seem that this turbo is a larger than the TD04 and doesn't drop at high RPM. Now I don't have enough money to buy something like a TD05 or a VF22 and this could be a very cheapy way to increase perfomance.
Does anybody tried this? or Any feedback?
