Hello guys, me first post on the board..
I'd like some techy info on the VF23 turbo if anyone has any please ?

Im actually form the club gti VW forum. The reason i ask is i'll be fitting one of these turbos to an audi TT engine shortly (1800 20v turbo lumps)
They usually see around 330-340bhp at 1 bar boost on this engine, how does this compare to a WRX STI type 5 say ?
(only engine mod would be a panel air filter and exhaust system)

P.S. the engines in a mk2 golf gti if anyone of you were keep enough to notice i said VW forum and audi TT..

 

1 bar would typically see 30 BHP less than that on a decatted STi, from my understanding the VAG motors have the potential to breathe better hence the higher specific output.



Here is the compressor map for the VF23.

Show it to someone that knows your engine and see what they think.

At 1 bar boost you've got approx 11.5 m3/min airflow capability at 65% compressor efficiency - about 410 CFM. Assuming 1800cc and 100% VE at 6500 RPM then this would be about right. I don't know what figures are realistic for your engine.
