Sorry, but that is not the case. If you stay Nvidia and go for say a Geforce 4 Ti4200, it will trounce the Ti 200 by upto 50% in Direct 3d apps and games
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=46138 is a very capable card which I have personally used and recommended to others.
Or you could get one of these from Dabs:
http://www.dabs.com/value/value.asp?s=374
'GeForce 4 Ti4200-8x 128MB DDR AGP' for £87.50 inc VAT. Had 2 mates by these and apart from the fact that I can't remember the actual name brand manufacturer they ship, they love them.
Cheers,
Nick

My pc is getting on a bit, its an Athlon XP with 512 2100 DDR and a Gforce 3 Ti200, cant afford to spend much on it as I an doing my bike test and all the expense that entails so what could I do to it to get a hike in performance, its running XP pro, the motherboard is a Epox 8Kha+, what graphics card would give an improve ment cos I get the impression that most of the budget offerings wont be any better and may even be worse !
