Question

Hi

I have a MY00

I am "changing/tune" my car and I would like to know why do you change the injectors of the engine and I would like to ear too the bad and good things for doing that????

What is the limit of the 440cc that came whit my car (I think)???
If you advise me to change the injectors where can I get (cheap place) the 550cc STI injectors for my car.

Thanks

You are correct in the fact that you have 440cc injectors. These are good up to about 350bhp where they will start to max out.

550cc are the way to go unless you are planning BIG bhp.

Do the air intake/exhuast system first then ECU with a front mounted intercooler and bigger turbo.

The MY00 has a TD04 turbo whihc spools up quick but runs out of puff at the top end. I run an MD304 which comes in a little later but the power is lovely!!!

There was and MD304 for sale earlier today.

I thought you only wanted to run 17 PSI? With your regulator we should manage OK.

With your APS turbo it should go well by the reports on them. We'll see.

I would stick with the 440s for a better idle.

Why 440's for better idle?

Big tuned cars are running 550's and 740's but have no idles problem if mapped right.
Is Ecutek have problem controlling idle on big injectors?

As far as 550cc STi = 350bhp max, this may be possible, but only running close to 95% IDC :-(.
My STi 8 is running 330 bhp and getting 93%IDC and is still not running rich enough in 5th and 6th gear after 6000rpm in my opinion.
I'll be putting in 650cc 's in soon ;-).
I prefer to run less than 85% IDC.
