........inside the green bit on the rear drive shafts. I assume that its some sort of drive or joint. If I was to change my rear drive shaft do I split it there or in the rear diff. Do you need to access the inside of the rear diff to change to a drive shaft.

Nothing.. they are just a solid end of the flexible coupling between driveshaft and diff..

If you need to remove the drive shaft then you need something like a 4inch nail and cut the point off to knock out the pins that hold each one on. It just then slides off the diff spine (once you have removed the other end etc).

No you do not need to get inside the diff, there is small (about 1.5inch long splines that come out of the diff that the driveshafts connect to, the whole green piece lifts off.

They are identical on the front, I might have a picture of the front ones..

You can just see the hole where the pin is in this picture.


I presume the driveshaft will come without the coupling and flexible joint.. you will have to remove the rubber boot to see how they are connected as that is the limit of my knowledge.
