From: North Yorks, MY03 PPP, now run a Mondeo ST TDCI 06
I regularly get between 28 and 31MPG, on a good motorway run using Optimax. Last week filled up with BP SUL and on the same trip from London to York only got 23, my lowest ever (03 MY PPP)
WTF is going on, why the big difference, is BP fuel really that bad?!

Thats odd because I get 28 most of the time on BP SUL. I have had 32 on Esso, MY02 PPP. A lot depends how much you use boost though. If you drive at a fairly consistant constant speed with small throttle openings you would be surprised at what you got mpg
I get noticably more power from optimax
Optimax has more energy per litre than other fuels so it should be possible to get better economy on it, if you can give the loud pedal some self control
Evo had an article a while back on optimax against other fules they got some huge gains on ingear times on the cars they tested
