Right, time to get into me flame suit...

Before you ask, its not for a caravan or anything like it, its for my jetski...

Obviously i like the look of my cars, so i am looking into seeing if there is a detachable one that would need my bumpers cutting.

does anyone have one or know of one? its for an MY93 WRX. If not is there any laws/regulations stopping me from fabricating one??

 

Towbars for the Scoob are readily available, I have one on mine.
Subaru do one with a detachable swan neck, but it is VERY expensive, £300+ springs to mind: And then you need electrics.....
They also do one without the detachable part, for a bit cheaper.
Places like Towsure do the non-detachable ones, as do Witter, available form most towbar fitting places. I paid £140 for my Witter one, fitted, then did the electrics myself using the kit from Subaru, cost about £40 extra, but took all of 15 minutes to do....it's real "plug in and go" stuff.

Funnily enough, the tow-ball covers part of the number plate when fitted, so has to be removed when not towing. No big deal, you can get it off with two 19mm spanners, and the part it fits to also comes off for almost perfect invisibility, using 4 17mm(I think) bolts. Not as easy as the £300 quid job, but just as effective.
Personally, I'd not go the self-made route! I'm sure you value your jetski, and I KNOW you value the Scoob. Don't go there!
I have the TSL back box on mine, and the towbar cross member fouled it. The fitter made a bracket that lowers the backbox 10mm for clearance, and it works great.

Id agree with that, A detacheable bar for my car (non-scooby) was going to be £250ish for a Brink bar, but I got a Tow-Trust non-detacheable bar for £70. I fitted it myself and it is only 2 24mm bolts that hold the whole visible section to the rest of the bar so its no big problem to remove it. To make it a wee bit easier, I welded the nuts for these bolts to the back of the bar so all I need is a spanner to do the bolts whenever I fit or remove the bar.
I did the electrics myself for pennies.

That's a fixed one which is Subaru OE. They also do a detachable one...
