Question

Hi Folks - sorry to bring this one up again but.......

I'm replacing the dying turbo on my MY99. The car has a full decat system, equal length headers, TEK2 and K&N performance panel. I want to end up with around 320 brake (ish) and max the torque. I am thinking along the lines of a TD04 hybrid from Turbo Dynamics, alternatives are possibly a refurbed TD05 or a VF23. I'd appreciate any advice on the pros and cons and see if I can't make a decision!!!

Cheers

Greg

Dont bother with a td04 just go for a vf28/vf23/td05 then a remap and if you want 320 bhp you might want pump/injectors on your list.

I personally wouldn't try and push a vf23 over 300...not again, anyway The compressor wheels are pretty fragile IMO.

Was the Ecutek remap done with the headers on the car? Depending how much work was done to customise it to your car, you'll likely need a remap. Oh, and the equal length headers I've played with are very good at making the ECU deaf to the OE knock sensor. This is good, assuming you have a separate knocklink...
