Falken 451s
Since missing out on the Crossroads F1 deal, then the mytires.com Toyo deal, I have had to settle for some Falken 451s. Although these are not my first choice tyres, I have found a good deal on them and since I'm on a budget and my current tyres seriously needing replacing, I could not wait for the 6-8 weeks delivery I've been quoted for the Toyos.
Who on here has used/is using them? What are your opinions of them?
Thanks.

PS Get the F1's

and don't compromise on tyres
Model/Year:
1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S
Price Paid: $176 at onlinetires.com
Summary:
I purchased these tires to replace 2 rear Yokohama A520s, which were discontinued. However, I would trade my treadless A520s back for these ridiculous Falken tires in a milisecond. The grip is horendous. After reading all of the glowing reviews (not one bad, in fact), it leads me to believe that these people work for the Falken Tire Corporation. In my experience, when driving on perfectly dry ground, with no sand, dirt, or any other particle (nevermind water), there is no grip. At least my old A520s would bounce if I popped the clutch from stop; the Falkens spin and cause me to fishtail all over the stupid road. Sure they look cool, but who in God's name looks at the treads on your tire when your ON THE ROAD. That's some good eyesight there. Don't even get me started on wet traction. Let's just say I desperately avoid all uphill starts when it's raining. Three words: Buy something else. If you think these tires are good, you have no idea what's out there.
Strengths:
If your not moving, they stick to the road like gum and look really sweet doing so.
Weaknesses:
No grip. No life. No way.
On a side note: Don't even try to drive in snow. You will crash and die. We all know that these are street/summer tires. But I warn you, if it ever turns out that you have to drive in the snow, hitch a ride. It's safer.

Siphie, I would love to have the F1s as what I originally ordered from Crossroads. But I needed tyres desperately. From a number of searched views I don't think the Falkens will be that bad, I don't ever really push the car that much so they will probably be OK for me.

I've got the Falken FK451's on my car (215/35-18) & they're awesome in the dry. They're a 280 treadwear so they last a lot longer than your Toyo's or F1's. And with me that's still not long
They're pretty good in the wet but I wouldn't put them in the same class as the other two.
Totally agree about the snow though
When it snowed a while back I was in all sorts of trouble
But that doesn't happen very often so it's not really worth worrying about. Unless of couse you're from Scotland

had 451's on my old civic and thought they were really good. i wasn't too sure how they would be on my scooby with the extra power but i have been very impressed. as other people have said i find them excellent in the dry.
