I have a HKS backbox on my 93 wrx, just cleaning up today when i noticed it has holes in it. Not huge but they are definelty going through.
Whats the best way around this as I dont really want to buy a full system. My local garage suggested getting it welded. Other alternative is to order me a full system from the cat back.
Just wondered if anyone can help, would welding be ok?.
Also what bhp am i likely to lose with holes in the back box.

 

Welding will only be a very temporary measure. Itll have rotted from the inside anyway so will prob just fall to bits if you try to weld it. Still you never know.

Best bet is get a new back box.

Or if you want you can have my Back box off my Sti7 if you want to collect it and if it fits.

Don't HKS come with a lifetime guarentee??

 

i have no idea, its been on the car since i bought it 4 months ago. its an import so dont know if the guarantee would apply over here.
anybody know what sort of power loss i am going to get?
