Cool

OK, sell the PPP ECU, get yourself a front entry TDO5, FMIC, uprated fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, 550 injectors, port the exhaust manifold and get an Ecutek remap. This will see well over 350hp depending on what boost you run.

You didn't say what stage performance increase you wanted so I threw in some bits and pieces.

Cheers,

George.

Wrexy - could you explain what a TDO5 and FMIC are? Also what does port the exhaust manifold mean?
Thanks Tim (the mechanical novice)

TD05 is a Mitsubishi TD05 Turbo, front entry means taking the original pre MY96 fitment turbo and converting it from having a 90 inlet tract to having a direct in flow tract (ie by machining off the elbow)

FMIC is a Front Mounted Intercooler which is good for improved charge cooling as the standard Top Mount Intercooler (TMIC or Interheater ) is a little inefficient for bigger power

Porting the headers or manifold means taking off the standard exhaust manifold and opening out the holes where they bolt to the heads on each bank, to the balance pipe and to the turbo up pipe (numerous threads about this) to improve gas speed and exhaust efficiency.

Thanks Tim. Nice explanation.

Leon,

You could sell the PPP and get around 420-450 pounds for it which would help with buying the new stuff.

The recommendation above is a very good package for getting a nice substantial amount of hp. It is also very safe and good on the pocket when you compare prices for similar combos with other gear.

John Banks is running around 406hp with similar mods, (and a few more), to the above, i.e. TDO5 turbo, APS FMIC, APS induction kit, ported manifold, down/uppipe, exhaust, APS induction kit, 550 injectors, uprated fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, Ecutek remap, with around 1.6/1.8bar boost. He has experimented with quite a few components and the above has produced the results. It is also very cost effective, with the savings being from the turbo and the Ecutec remap. The FMIC is the more expensive bit. Offcourse you wouldn't want to run that much boost so that your car remains safe, hence the 350/360hp figures I quoted. John is running that much boost cos he can afford to experiment, even if his engine blows, cos he is waiting on a new one. So far it has held. He has been running lower boost earlier in the piece and has had over six months trouble free running.

Have a read here, http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=212219

Cheers,

George.
