Question

Had the Check engine light come on for a minute of so yesterday. The car had just been filled with Shell unleaded, which I don’t normally use. There was no difference in the way the car performed and I haven’t seen the light come on again.
Searched the threads on here and have checked the error code via the black plugs and warning light “morse code” – it shows error code 22 – Knock sensor.

I’m on my way to the dealers anyway in the next hour or so to book a service so a very quick question :
Do you think the sensor is faulty or was it just adjusting to my poor choice of petrol and Is the knock sensor covered under Subaru warranty? (I have a MY00 car with an extended Subaru warranty)

In anticipation of your responses – thanks.
I like to have the answers before I go to the dealers !!!!

Thumbs up

This can happen after filling up (according to my local dealer)

I phoned recently when mine just flashed on briefly and their first question was..... "have you just filled up with fuel as it's common for this to happen after a fill up...don't worry about it unless it happens again"

Who knows

Still worth getting it checked out

Saw the dealer today and they will check it at the service next week.
I assume the knock sensor is covered under Subaru warranty, Anyone know for sure?
