Just had a full decat and the place who has fitted it tells me i really need an uprated fuel pump because the standard Subaru one runs to its maximum as standard. They said it could run weak and damage things. is this correct Dont want to waste money. My car is MY00 Turbo. Any help appreciated.

 

The standard pump is O.K. up to (about) 280 HP.

Yes they are quite right, quite a few of the Subaru componants are like this, but this is also the same for most cars.

 

i have a my00 with standard fuel pump / full decat, and also remapped and didnt need one, had it rollin roaded at 284bhp and the AirFuelRatio plot was fine.
