I'm going to my first rolling road day at Well Lane on the 18th and I wanted some advice.

Basically, I'll be changing the oil, fitting a new alternator belt and hopefully new coils before the day as these are my weak spots but I'm worried about a couple of aspects.

I only have the standard (crap) MY93 TMIC and I know it suffers from heat soak under normal driving (I can feel the ECU pulling the power, sometimes violently, sometimes not) and obviously I don't want the motor to blow on the rollers. Do they make an effort to blow the cooling fans over the TMIC or are they fixed in place? Should I just bung a load of octane booster in the tank beforehand and hope for the best?

My car is running full Scoobysport system, HKS induction and 14psi (just under 1 bar)

Did a recent rolling road at John Noble in chesterfield
They had big fans blowing air directly onto the tmic and a big fan in front of the car, I felt my reported power was low, but the guy said that tmic's and induction kits are bad on rolling roads.

Not wishing to put you off, but i personally think WL is Sh1te for fan cooling.

The last time i went there,i was the 1stto run with a FMIC, and i had to make them stop and adjust the angle of the fan.

If you are aware of your car, and its problems then you will have no problem, just tell them what you want before they start

Rev,

1/ Remove all the fuel and replace with water.
2/ Use a hair dryer on the top mount (it will be bigger than WLs fan!)

That way I am assured of not coming last

In all seriousness, the fan at WL is more suited to top mount IC, as it blows over the bonnet, it's just way too small. For front mounts, they have to jack the back end of it up to get any cooling air through. Loads of scoobs have run there before, so shouldn't be an issue.
